Meditation with Neil Goodman
2 part Session (students may opt to do either one or both)
Saturday, April 21, 1:00PM – 3:00PM
Saturday, April 28, 1:00PM – 3:00PM
$30 each or $50 for both

Any stress in your life? ... No, of course not! But if there might be, consider the following; in our world today, meditation is not optional! Additionally, it does not conflict with our religious or spiritual beliefs and practices. In fact it enhances them. There is an obvious reason why major world religions preface a daily practice of meditation and prayer. If we look to meditation purely for physical benefits – it has been proven to reverse the aging process, strengthen our immune systems, lower our blood pressure and ultimately, lower our stress levels.
This two-part series is guaranteed to guide you ‘home’ to stillness, peace and improved health. Our program is for individuals that have been interested in meditation, but have not been able to embrace a daily practice. Experience simple yet powerful methods that you can easily incorporate into your daily routine. It is preferable that students attend both, but not a must!

Neil is a Massage Therapist and Reiki Practitioner at LIFETIME FITNESS in Centreville. He is a teacher of Meditation in local hospitals, clinics, & health clubs... with over 20 years experience as a corporate trainer, empowering individuals to live in the full potential of Physical, Emotional and Spiritual Health.

Chair Yoga for Non-Beginners with Susan Van Nuys
Saturday, May 5, 1:00PM – 3:00PM        $30

Props are used in yoga to help stretch, strengthen and create better alignment. In this workshop we will practice almost all of our poses using chairs. This is not your typical seated chair yoga class; we will use chairs to forward bend, backbend, twist and invert. Join us for a fun afternoon! Level 2 and above and not be afraid to go upside down. Fine for students with neck injuries.

Susan is the director of The Health Advantage Yoga Center. She has been a yoga practitioner since 1989 and began teaching in 1997. A former Anusara® certified instructor, Susan has studied with many world-class Anusara and Iyengar teachers. She received a BS degree in computer science and linguistics from the College of William and Mary and she particularly enjoys applying the logic she learned while programming to the progressive teaching of yoga poses. Susan’s approach is warm and clear with an appreciation of individual differences.

Hip Openers with Patt
Saturday, May 19, 1:00PM – 3:00PM        $30

Long hours of sitting at a desk or driving can cause ones hips to become tight and tense. Stiff hips can affect the pelvis, lower back and knees. We also tend to hold a lot of mental and emotional stress in our hips, which increases stiffness.
In this workshop, students will gain a greater understanding of the anatomy of hips and focus on hip opening poses, learn the benefits and know how to perform them safely. This workshop will begin with a flowing practice to warm the body then gradually move into some deep hip openers. After class, you will experience the freedom of movement in your hips and release of your mind. Open to all levels.
